Luminescent, sonic, and experimental! All aspects of the event have been curated to envelop guests in a multisensory atmosphere. Distinct spaces, two floors and suspended semi-translucent fabrics will display Tracy Maurice’s analog projections – which are both live microscopic chemical reactions and pre-filmed reactions designed to complement Tommy Crane’s musical performance. The evening is divided into two “experiments” – one at 9 pm and a second at 10 pm, each presenting a new artistic material for the delight of all LAB guests.
Tickets are available through the Neon Venus website.

Prepare to be spellbound! Wu Fei’s original work and improvisations will be woven together with traditional guzheng repertoire, folk songs, and Chinese opera, taking inspiration and influence from the old to create the new. All the pieces will be accompanied by brief educational descriptions by Wu Fei that encompass the history of the guzheng beginning more than 2,500 years ago, the regional linguistic character of different singing styles of the Chinese operas, and Fei’s own explorative improvisations and experiences of cross-cultural collaborations around the globe. Wu Fei’s solo concerts are pure magic, driven by sensitivity, charisma, and virtuosity. You won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to hear Wu Fei’s solo recital in the same week as her appearance with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra! Presented in collaboration with the Winnipeg New Music Festival.
Tickets are available at the Virtuosi Concerts website or by phone at 204.786.9000.
