Roman Yusipey
Born in the Ukrainian city of Kherson, Bayan accordionist Roman Yusipey studied at the National Music Academy in Kiev, Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, at Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and Cologne University of Music and Dance.
In addition to concerts in Ukraine and Germany, Roman has also made guest appearances in France, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Lithuania, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Malta, Italy and Japan.
Roman has also performed in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Jenaer Philharmonie, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Salle Cortot Paris and Radio Berlin-Brandenburg.
As a soloist, Roman Yusipey has given more than 70 concerts with chamber and symphony orchestras under the direction of former Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra music director Andrey Boreyko, Roman Kofman, Raymond Jannsen, Vladimir Sirenko, Gungard Mattes etc. He has also given world premieres of numerous contemporary composers including Sofia Gubaidulina, Giya Kancheli, Helmut Zapf , Victoria Poleva, Dmitri Kourliandski and Oleksandr Schetynskyj.
