Glenn Buhr
Glenn Buhr (Genie award-winner and 4-time Juno nominee) is a composer, pianist/guitarist, music curator and producer, singer/songwriter and band leader.
Music lovers will remember him as front man – with conductor Bramwell Tovey – of Winnipeg’s New Music Festival. He’s well traveled as a musician, having performed in clubs and concerts halls across Canada, and having written music on commission for orchestras, ballet companies, choirs, classical soloists, and string quartets from all over the world.
He’s worked as arranger for a collection of singers and songwriters including Ron Sexsmith, Sarah Slean and Madeleine Peyroux, and he’s toured Canada twice as a jazz artist and band-leader. Glenn Buhr’s work and his performances are featured regularly on the CBC. His book Our Native Song – a collection of essays on music and song – was published in May 2013.
